Non-Contact Sensor Selection Guide
Membrane Rotary & Linear Sensors
Membrane Potentiometers
are available in designs that eliminate mechanical contact between the wiper and resistive material. An external actuating magnet pulls the conductive layer of the membrane potentiometer into contact with the resistive layer. The rated life is greater than 20 millions cycles.
Hall-Effect Rotary Position Sensors
Series 6120 Hall-Effect Rotary Position Sensor
is a new 7/8" device which features continuous rotation, ±0.5% independent linearity, and 0.2% maximum hysteresis. Rated rotational life of 10 million revolutions
The
HRS100 Hall-Effect Rotary Position Sensor
provides a long life, cost-effective solution for harsh environments that include temperature, vibration, dither, moisture and dirt, with a rated life of more than 50 millions operations.
Optical Rotary Encoder
Series 600E Optical Rotary Encoder
is available is several terminal configurations, with a high resolution 2-bit grey code output of 128 pulses/revolution standard, and rated lifetime of 10 million revolutions.
Non-Contact Joystick Controls
The
J9 Contactless Inductive Joystick
is available in 1, 2, or 3 axes configurations, with a 36° deflection angle. Rated for 15 million operations, this joystick also features high EMC immunity.
The
J3RH Single Axis Hall-Effect Rocker Joystick
features a 30° deflection angle, with spring return to center and 3.0% linearity. This unit is rated for 5 million operations.
The rugged
J30H-XYZ-B Triple Axis Hall Effect Joystick
features a 30° deflection angle, with essentially infinite resolution and 3.0% linearity.
The
JHE13 Contactless, Multi-axis USB Controller
is a three axis, two button joystick built with Hall Effect sensors. This low-profile unit features a USB connection.
